Valencia, 2 November 2022. – Last week the Director of International Development of Fundación Valenciaport, Miguel Garín, participated in the XLIV Port Meeting of the Central American Isthmus (REPICA), organised by Cocatram, which took place in San Pedro Sula (Honduras) from 25 to 29 October.
REPICA aims at the exchange of ideas and experiences through the discussion of port issues. The topics of the meetings deal with the environment, advances in port technology, organisational and legislative improvements, compliance with international standards, modernisation plans, innovations, among others.
During these meetings, Miguel Garín gave two technical conferences, the first on port innovation and the second on the methodology for developing a smartport.
In addition, the presence of the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) at REPICA was used to promote the new edition of the Master in Logistics and Port Management that both entities (Valenciaport Foundation and AMP) have organised and that will start the first week of March 2023.
REPICA is a permanent meeting that takes place once a year, whose Secretariat is in charge of COCATRAM. The venue is rotating, at the request of the member countries or the Port Authority acting as host.
