Opentop brings open innovation in the port logistics sector to 4YFN

Barcelona, March 6, 2023. Opentop was present last week at the event for startups 4YFN (4 Years From Now), framed in the Mobile World Congress (MWC), to consolidate Opentop as a benchmark in open innovation in the port logistics sector at national and international level and promote the startups participating in Opentop.

In this ninth edition of 4YFN, the organization brought together more than 780 companies, a thousand investors, and international visitors from more than 30 different nationalities.

Opentop was present along with the Fundación Valenciaport team, promoters of the initiative; Telefónica Open Future, its strategic partner; and some of the startups incubated and accelerated in these first months Gandolapp, Code Contract and SensingTools; who presented their solutions to investors and companies in the sector.

From Monday to Thursday, a team representing Opentop showed the first promising results of its activity, after 10 months of life of the initiative: Antonio Torregrosa, CEO of Fundación Valenciaport; Salvador Furió, Director of Innovation and Development of the cluster of Fundación Valenciaport; Marina Sáez, Director of Communication of Fundación Valenciaport; Jorge Marcos, Lead Opentop Project Manager; Chema Leal, Ecosystem Builder of Opentop; and Yolanda Trujillo, Project Manager of Opentop; shared with the rest of the entrepreneurial ecosystem the present and the promising future in this multitudinous event.

Torregrosa values the initiative’s passage through the 4YFN very positively, and looks to the future: “At Opentop we create the ideal conditions for startups to develop hand in hand with leading companies in the port logistics sector and, at the same time, we provide them with access to innovate with the latest technologies that can help them solve their business challenges. To implement these objectives we have participated in this edition of 4YFN, which has allowed us to promote our startups in an international technology forum of the highest level and strengthen our presence in the entrepreneurial ecosystem”.

Throughout the week the representative team was at the València Activa stand, promoted by the València City Council, representing the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem along with 12 other facilitating agents.

In addition, during the afternoon of the first day of the event, the initiative had a presence at the stand of Wayra, Telefónica’s entrepreneurship support initiative, along with more than 25 startups invested by Wayra and other strategic partners.

During the session “Time 4 VLC Ecosystem”, Jorge Marcos, Opentop Lead Project Manager, presented the initiative to the rest of the agents gathered at the largest stand of València Activa in the nine editions of 4YFN.

So far, Opentop has held a hackathon with more than 50 participants, incubated four startups, and another four are currently in the process of acceleration. Along the way, 12 challenges in the port logistics sector have been addressed with industry partners such as MSC Group, Navis, Romeu Group, TransBase Soler, Boluda Corporación Marítima, or the Port Authority of Valencia.

In a few months Opentop will hold a new edition of the Valenciaport Hackathon, undoubtedly a new promising milestone where entrepreneurs and entities will work hand in hand to continue bringing innovation to the port logistics sector.
