Valencia, 14th November 2023. – Fundación Valenciaport, in collaboration with Jesús Nieva, head of the Labour Relations Department of Puertos del Estado de España, is leading the new human resources management strategy for the port of Bahía Blanca (Argentina).
This project, directed by Ana Rumbeu, Training Director of the Valenciaport Foundation, was born from the concern that the management team of the Bahía Blanca Port Management Consortium, led by its General Manager, Juan Linares, and its Deputy General Manager, Alberto Carnevali, showed in different meetings held with Miguel Garín, Director of International Business Development of Fundación Valenciaport.
The main objective of the technical assistance, which will last approximately 8 months, is to review the current structure of the port’s human resources, its functioning, its organisation chart and the competencies of its employees, in order to assess their alignment with the strategic vision and challenges of the port, and to identify the existing shortcomings. With this preliminary work, an action plan will be designed and implemented to set the port in the right direction.
To develop this plan, three specific objectives will be pursued: the review of the current staff structure of the Port of Bahia Blanca in relation to the current needs of the port; the assessment of the gaps and weaknesses that affect the port staff and/or its structures and that keep it away from its objectives; and the design and implementation of an action plan to empower the resources and provide them with the necessary skills and competencies. the necessary skills and competencies.
All this is being carried out both in person, at the Port of Bahía Blanca, and remotely from Fundación Valenciaport.
