The SEMAS-EMSWe project will enable the implementation of the European Maritime Single Window (EMSWe) in seven Member States, with the aim of harmonising the electronic exchange of the necessary information on the arrival, stay and departure of ships in ports, ensuring that the information can be submitted in the same way to each existing national maritime single window in each Member State (Regulation 2019/1239/EU).
The Regulation establishes that each national maritime single window must be a single entry point for ship information provided by maritime transport operators, and distributed to the different administrations, including port authorities, the Harbour Master’s Office and Customs.
In Spain, the SEMAS-EMSWe project will allow the adaptation to the European environment of the current maritime single window (DUEPORT) by Puertos del Estado (State Ports); the adaptation of the INTEGRA2 system, used by the port authorities for the management of the areas of operation, invoicing and statistics; and the connection with the administration bodies involved.
Both for the Port Authority of Valencia and for shipping companies and maritime agencies, the development and adaptation of the systems to the European maritime single window environment is relevant for the correct presentation and reception of the necessary information in the management of port operations, as well as for the calculation of port taxes and other processes included in the Port Community System of Valenciaport.
The Fundación Valenciaport will coordinate the SEMAS-EMSWe project and will support the Port Authority of Valencia in the analysis tasks for the connection with the DUEPORT and INTEGRA2 systems adapted to the European maritime single window environment.
