COP-PILOT aims to drive the digital transformation of various industrial sectors by integrating edge computing, advanced 5G connectivity and decentralised data processing.
The initiative focuses on developing an open collaborative platform that manages end-to-end services in various industrial domains. This platform is designed to effectively manage different sectors, ensuring security, automation and intelligence, while seamlessly integrating with underlying technologies.
The implementation will be carried out in four major pilot clusters, addressing different domains; energy, smart cities, agriculture and industrial manufacturing.
The ‘smart cities’ pilot, led by the Spanish cluster in which Fundación Valenciaport participates, will focus on the city of Valencia and its surroundings. This pilot will aim to evaluate smarter and more sustainable mobility and data solutions, as well as to integrate and validate smart IoT platforms and devices in large-scale tests in several scenarios: the city of Valencia, the Port of Valencia, the Almussafes industrial estate and the campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València.
As for the Port of Valencia, a smart IoT platform will be implemented for advanced maritime and land traffic management, improving safety and efficiency through precise maritime tracking technologies, real-time risk assessment and improved truck movement monitoring.
