Valencia, 02.07.20.- The Fundación Valenciaport has signed a new collaboration agreement with the Fundación C.V. Juan Arizo Serrulla (FJAS) thanks to which two grants will be awarded to study the 29th edition of the Master’s Degree in Port Management and Intermodal Transport, which will begin on 15 October.
The amount of each grant will be 6,000.00 euros and is intended to meet the demands of those students who register for the Master’s Degree in Port Management and Intermodal Transport in the 2020-2021 academic year and who especially demonstrate a personal or family situation of economic need and do not enjoy other grants or study aids for the same purpose.
These scholarships are aimed exclusively at students who have graduated from any of the courses (Bachelor’s, Master’s or those prior to the Bologna reform) that are taught or have been taught at the School of Civil Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Therefore, graduates of the Degree in Civil Engineering; the Degree in Public Works Engineering; the Master’s U. in Civil Engineering; the Degree in Public Works Engineering; the U. Masters in Transport, Territory and Town Planning; the U. Masters in Planning and Management in Civil Engineering; the U. Masters in Environmental Engineering; as well as graduates of study plans prior to the reform of university education for the formation of the EHEA (European Higher Education Area), such as Civil Engineers, Technical Engineers in Public Works, etc.
The deadline for submitting applications for these grants began on 1 July and ends on 31 August, inclusive.
Juan Arizo Serrulla Foundation
The FJAS was created in 2007 on the initiative of María Serrulla Ripoll, in memory of her son Juan Arizo (1957-2004) as an institution promoting activities related to training, research, knowledge and the dissemination of academic disciplines related to the development of projects, execution and operation of Public Works. The Foundation’s statutes provide for the return to society of the efforts of its professional and teaching activities, through the announcement of prizes and scholarships that constitute the institution’s preferential objective.
This collaboration is therefore part of the patronage activities that the FJAS has been carrying out and which has selected this postgraduate course, taught by the Valenciaport Foundation, as training, business and society converge, three pillars on which the FJAS develops its activity; thus giving continuity to those that Juan Arizo developed in his day as an engineer, businessman and teacher, participating in an outstanding way in the development of the infrastructures and services of the Port of Valencia.
The Master in Port Management and Intermodal Transport (MGPT) is owned by the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), is directed by the Valenciaport Foundation and, since the XXVII edition, is a title of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). The program consists of 60 ECTS credits that correspond to 600 teaching hours, between content and final master’s work.
The MGPT has consolidated itself as the most internationally prestigious training program in Spanish, specialized in ports and transport, finding a wide echo among professionals and postgraduates in Spain, Europe and Latin America. In addition to the 28 editions held in Valencia (Spain), the Master has been taught, in its international edition, in the countries of Panama and Colombia and will continue its international projection with new editions in other countries.
