Valencia – 25.06.19. The second edition of the “Master in Logistics and Port Management”, managed by the Fundación Valenciaport and endorsed by the Universidad Politécnica de València (UPV), started yesterday in Buenos Aires (Argentina); an innovative program that, under the auspices and leadership of the Port of Buenos Aires, and the collaboration of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP- OEA), is presented as a first level academic proposal.
A total of 14 students from different ports and companies operating in the ports of Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador, make up the group of participants who, during 9 months, will be trained in the different subjects included in the program, culminating with the presentation of the final projects of the Master. The classes will be developed in a mixed format, 66% online and 34% in person, adding up to a total of 6 weeks of classroom training, given in Buenos Aires, and one in Valencia, which will take place in the last quarter of the year.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Matías Peri Brusa, Coordinating Manager of Administrative and Legal Management of the Port of Buenos Aires; the General Director of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), Francesc Sánchez, and the Director of Training of the Fundación Valenciaport, Ana Rumbeu.
The extraordinary lecture given by Francesc Sánchez under the title: “Current challenges in port planning: the case of Valencia, the first port in the Mediterranean”, served as the starting point for the 24-hour lecture to be given this week on: port planning, by Francesc Sánchez, human resource management, by Ana Rumbeu and logistics and intermodality, by Miguel Garín, Director of International Development of the Fundación Valenciaport.
