Valencia – 26.10.20. Last Friday the inauguration of the 2nd edition of the Master in Logistics and Port Management in Brazil took place, a programme directed by Fundación Valenciaport and endorsed by the Universitat Politècnica de València that was highly successful in its first edition and has managed to consolidate itself despite the pandemic.

The opening ceremony, which was held in a virtual mode, was attended by the National Secretary of Ports of Brazil, Diogo Piloni; the General Director of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), Francesc Sánchez; the Professor of Business Organisation of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and Academic Director of the Master’s Degree, Ángel Ortiz; as well as representatives of the Brazilian entities FENOP; ABEPH; ATP; ABTP and ABTRA. Fundación Valenciaport was represented by its General Director, Antonio Torregrosa; the Director of Training, Ana Rumbeu; the Director of International Development, Miguel Garín and the Head of Projects, Jonas Mendes.

After the opening ceremony, classes began, and from Friday to Sunday, 23 hours were given corresponding to the first subjects: Port Management, taught by Francesc Sánchez; Introduction to Logistics and Intermodality, taught by Miguel Garín; and Human Resource Management, taught by Ana Rumbeu.

The 32 students who make up this second edition are managers and professionals from the ports of Santos, Paraná, Suape, Itaqui, Itajai, Belem, Pecém and Ceará as well as from the Ministry of Infrastructure of the Brazilian government, from different terminals and from private logistics operators. All of them will be trained for 9 months in the different subjects included in the programme, culminating with the presentation of the final projects of the Master’s.

As always, classes will be held in a mixed format, 66% online and 34% face-to-face, for a total of 6 weeks of classroom training in Brasilia and one week in Valencia in 2021, as long as the evolution of the pandemic allows it.
