CSR
Fundación Valenciaport considers social responsibility a right and an opportunity to voluntarily make an additional contribution to sustainable development. This commitment is manifested in cross-sectional actions undertaken from different areas of the organization, arising out of the interaction with key interest groups. Specifically, these actions address management and corporate governance, as well as social, labour, economic and environmental performance.
Internally, Fundación Valenciaport takes a participatory approach to its work on the main CSR-related policies, and deals with the key associated issues in its CSR Committee. A particularly relevant initiative for the sector is the association APORTEM – PUERTO SOLIDARIO VALENCIA. This project was promoted in 2013 by the Port Authority of Valencia and Fundación Valenciaport, with a representative group of companies and organizations linked to the Valencian port cluster subsequently getting onboard. This initiative, which achieved association status in 2017, enables participating organizations to carry out joint actions and collaborate to benefit the most vulnerable groups in the areas surrounding the Port of Valencia.
Ever since Fundación Valenciaport was first established, a fundamental aspect has been promoting sustainability in its broadest sense, improving the competitiveness of the cluster, and incorporating social responsibility as a strategic tool to achieve this aim. In this regard, Fundación Valenciaport supports companies and organizations that feel a common need to engage with their surroundings in a way that goes above and beyond; they want to make a greater commitment to their area of influence, defining policies, plans and actions that directly benefit it and provide a differential value in the social sphere, as well as in terms of employment and the environment. This work is carried out through consultancy, guidance, training, collaboration, the exchange of experiences and the transmission of its knowledge.
