The Fundación Valenciaport gives the 2nd edition of the International Certificate in Port Management to Brazilian and Angolan managers

Valencia – 25.02.19. Today begins the 2nd edition of the course “International Certificate in Port Management”, organized by the Fundación Valenciaport and that will train 22 Brazilian and Angolan managers of ports and private companies linked to the sector.

This course, which has been inaugurated by the general manager of the Valenciaport Foundation, Antonio Torregrosa, aims to publicise the good practices and innovation projects developed by the Fundación Valenciaport, the Port of Valencia and the companies in the Valencian port cluster.

For one week, executives from the Fundación Valenciaport and the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) will train participants on subjects such as: innovation at the service of ports; port planning, strategy and quality; business opportunities in logistics chains linked to ports; the digital revolution in the sector and port security and cyber security, among others.

In addition to the theoretical subjects, the course includes different technical visits to the ports of Valencia and Sagunto; to the Sagunto SAGGAS regasification plant; to the MSC Valencia and Noatum container terminals, to the Temagra bulk terminal and to the Valencia Terminal Europa ro-ro terminal; as well as to the facilities of the PAV Emergency Control Centre, the Parc Sagunt business complex and the Megaports radiation detection system, located at the southern access to the port of Valencia.

The closing ceremony will take place on Friday, during which the course conclusions will be read and diplomas will be awarded to the participants. This course has been a new opportunity to contact other ports and identify potential collaborations in many fields (port development, quality management, technologies, environment, energy efficiency, etc.).
