Valencia – 19.02.19. The Director of Port Development of Fundación Valenciaport, Arturo Monfort, Project Manager of the international consultancy to update the Master Plan of the Port Terminal of Callao, commissioned by the National Port Authority of Peru to the Callaoport Consortium – formed by the Fundación Valenciaport and the Multimodal Company of Colombia – held a meeting with Gerard Van Den Heuvel, CEO of the terminal and his team.
The most relevant aspect of the discussion was the upcoming signing of the terminal expansion, operated by DP World Callao, which will extend the berthing line above one thousand meters, allowing it to reach a capacity of over two million TEUs.
The other operator of the port area that handles containers is APM Terminals Callao. To the previous ones, the shipping company COSCO has presented in the last weeks an ambitious project of port development, some kilometers north of Callao. There is no doubt that the complex will continue to provide the largest port capacity on the Pacific coast of South America.
