Next Saturday 13th April, the open day, “XÀBIA MARINERA”, will take place in the fishing port of Xàbia.

This is a day promoted by the Fishermen’s Guild of Xàbia, the Fundación Valenciaport (through the European project TOURISMED) and the fishing tourism company “Trip&Feel”. In it, the fishing tourism experiences that are already underway in the fishing port of Xàbia will be presented.

The “XÀBIA MARINERA” conference is an initiative of the fishermen of the Cofradía de Xábia themselves, who decided to open the doors of their activity to the public, to show the work and effort behind this trade, thus contributing to enhance the value of fish products and fishing activity, and to recover the seafaring culture and traditions.

The experiences of fishing tourism designed under the framework of the European project TOURISMED, will be presented next Saturday 13th April in the fishing port of Xàbia, in the framework of an open day aimed at all audiences, organized by the promoters of the project.

The day will begin at 10 am and end at 1 pm. Throughout the morning there will be various talks, educational activities aimed at the whole family and workshops on marine culture and gastronomy offered by the fishermen of the Guild themselves.

This initiative, along with other similar ones that are beginning to emerge in the Comunitat Valenciana, is part of the CreaTurisme strategy of the Generalitat Valenciana, which seeks to enrich the tourism offer in coastal destinations and diversify the activity of the traditional fishing sector, promoting innovative and sustainable experiences.
