Valencia – 25.09.19. Fundación Valenciaport, an entity certified by the Valencian Employment and Training Service (LABORA) to provide training for the Certificate of professionalism in port operations of loading, stevedoring, unloading, unstowing and transhipment (MAPN0712), starts the academic year 2019-2020, with the 1st edition of the course to obtain this certificate that began last September 16.
The 24 students of the course will be trained for 450 hours in the subjects included in the corresponding Royal Decree 988/2019, which accredits the set of professional skills that enable the development of a work activity for the provision of the port service of goods handling.
The course is taught in the approved classroom located in the Valenciaport Foundation and in the mornings from 8:30 to 13:00 hrs. to make it compatible with the work shifts of active dockers. The course also offers the 400 hours of work experience required by regulations for those students who do not have the necessary work experience and therefore need to take the work experience module. At the end of the course in February 2020, they will obtain their accreditation certificate.
The programme established by the RD will be enriched with visits to port facilities, lectures and classroom dynamics to make learning in the classroom an experience of professional and personal growth by interacting between students, teachers and guests from the port community.
The teaching staff, made up of professionals from the sector and other experts in the subjects covered by the RD, is highly committed to this training, which is a milestone in the port training sector and in the programmes run by the Valenciaport Foundation, which is already preparing the next editions.
