Valencia – 24.02.20. This morning began the course “Digital transformation towards fourth generation ports – Smart Ports”, organized jointly by the Fundación Valenciaport in collaboration with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and that, during one week, will train 4 managers from Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Egypt.
This is the fifth time that the two entities have collaborated on training. This edition actually consists of 2 weeks of intensive training. The first was held in Alexandria – from 10th to 14th February – and the second is being given this week in Valencia by representatives of the Fundación Valenciaport, the Port Authority of Valencia and other entities in the port community.
Thanks to this course the participants will be trained and share the good practices acquired by the Port of Valencia. The course includes different modules: Digital Strategy, Cybersecurity, Technology Platforms and 4.0 Technologies applied to logistics and ports.
The closing ceremony will take place this Friday, during which the course conclusions will be read and diplomas will be awarded to the participants. This course has been a new opportunity to establish collaboration with Arab ports and identify potential collaborations in many fields.
Both this course and the previous ones, on port management, strategy, marketing, innovation and investments in ports, are the result of the close collaboration that has been maintained by the aforementioned entities and which began in April 2015 with the signing of a collaboration agreement in Alexandria (Egypt).
