Valencia – 18.03.20. The Fundación Valenciaport is already organising the 1st edition of the “Master’s Degree in Logistics and Port Management” in Colombia, a degree from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), which will be given in a semi-attendance mode and is supported by the National Association of Businessmen of Colombia (ANDI).
This Master, which has already been successfully taught in Argentina and Brazil, is scheduled to begin in July 2020 in Bogota (Colombia), addressing both conceptual and practical knowledge that will enable students to acquire the skills necessary to perform management functions in the field of logistics and port management. The study plan is structured into different subjects including: maritime traffic; transport infrastructure and means; port planning and management; business management applied to the port environment; production and logistics; supply chain strategy; and logistics and supply chain techniques.
The programme consists of a total of 600 hours: 500 academic hours, of which 66% will be in the virtual mode and 34% in the face-to-face mode (138 hours in Bogotá (Colombia) and 30 hours in Valencia (Spain), plus 100 hours dedicated to TFM development (final Master’s work). As in previous editions, students will have the opportunity to do a one-week internship in Valencia where they will give extraordinary lectures and visit different facilities related to the subjects taught.
The teaching staff will be made up of professors from the Polytechnic University of Valencia with proven international teaching experience and professionals from the port logistics sector linked to the Fundación Valenciaport, the Valencia Port Authority and companies from the Valencia port logistics sector. Local teaching staff will also participate in classroom-based modules, sharing sessions with the international lecturers.
