Valencia – 16.09.20. This week the presential classes have been resumed in the Fundación Valenciaport with the beginning of the 5th edition of the preparatory course to the practical test of aptitude to the training as Customs Representative.

The Fundación Valenciaport has implemented all the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of the students during the classes, which will be given in the afternoons from Monday to Wednesday until 21st December.

Following the publication in May 2014 of the latest amendment to Royal Decree 335/10, a document regulating the activity of Customs Representation, by 2020 all freight forwarders and customs agencies must have their customs management staff and/or legal representative accredited as a “Customs Representative”.

Since 2016, the Fundación Valenciaport has been preparing the port community for this great challenge through two courses: the theoretical Customs Representative course, lasting 130 hours, which exempts those students who pass the official exam from taking it, which is a differentiating element and a clear advantage over other applicants for accreditation as Customs Representatives, and the practical course, lasting 100 hours, aimed especially at students who have already taken the theoretical course and which focuses on a practical perspective through the resolution of cases.

Registration for the 6th edition of this practical course, which will be held from 2 October to 19 December, is already open and the modality will also be in attendance but at the weekend (Friday afternoon and Saturday morning).
