- The technical support project is the result of a collaboration agreement between Valenciaport Foundation and SEAPort Solutions.
Valencia – 16.12.20. The Spanish start-up company SEAPort Solutions has signed an important collaboration agreement with Valenciaport Foundation in order to provide technical assistance in the implementation of a PortCDM (Collaborative Decision Making) system at the ports managed by the Brazilian Public entity Portos do Paraná.
The ports of Paranaguá and Antonina will be the first in Latin America to have a pioneering technological solution in the port sector allowing automated and real-time data exchange among the main stakeholders involved in port call processes.
The two ports managed by Portos do Paraná have experienced a substantial growth in recent years. This December they have already reached a record 53,382 million tons of handled cargo, their highest volume in its 85 years of history. These figures place them as reference ports in South America.
During the development of the technical assistance, SEAPort will participate, as the technology provider, in the adaptation and implementation of its platform for data exchange, PAULA (Platform for AUtomatically Linking Agents). Through the platform, a pilot test will be carried out to optimise processes and operations linked to port calls.
The functionalities that will be deployed for the development of the tests in a real operational environment are based on the solutions of the Sea Traffic Management system (STM), and specifically on the services and standards (IALA-S211) defined as part of the technological solutions for ports within the concept of PortCDM.
The project is in line with the efforts of Portos do Paraná to improve the competitiveness of its port community and to efficiently manage their processes in order to achieve high rates of occupation and productivity.
The knowledge of the levels of congestion of the port in real time, the waiting times and the anchoring times, will facilitate the planning and programming of the operations, reducing considerably the idle times, the operational costs and the environmental impact of the processes involved.
The technical collaboration is part of a larger project between the Valenciaport Foundation and the public company Portos de Paraná to modernise the Brazilian ports of Paranaguá and Antonina by the simultaneous development of four technical assistances in the areas of technology, innovation and training.
