Valencia – 25.03.21. Yesterday afternoon the 1st edition of the course “Digital Transformation, Innovation and Development of Intelligent Ports” began, a programme given by Fundación Valenciaport and aimed at the management staff of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV).
Digital transformation allows organisations to compete better in an economic environment that is constantly changing as technology evolves. In the same way, ports and, specifically, port authorities are key players in promoting, driving and leading projects and initiatives that are precursors of the digital transformation of the organisation itself and in the port communities they serve.
In this context, the general objective of the course, which has 18 participants, is to raise awareness among PAV management staff of the need for digital transformation through the following specific objectives:
– To understand the functioning of the port logistics sector and the strategic and operational implications of digital transformation.
– To know the tools necessary to develop and implement a digital transformation plan in the port authority itself.
– Identify the implications of managing innovative processes and how they affect business models.
– Acquire the necessary skills to evaluate the business opportunities that Industry 4.0 technologies facilitate and make them a reality in the company.
This course, which was inaugurated by the general director of Fundación Valenciaport, Antonio Torregrosa, is taught in classroom mode (with the possibility of attending also in virtual mode), has a total duration of 20 hours and will end on 28 May.
