The Maritime Authority of Panama and Fundación Valenciaport sign an agreement to offer the Master’s Degree in Logistics and Port Management in Panama City

Valencia, 16 May 2022. – In a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Maritime Authority of Panama, the agreement was signed last week, thanks to which the Master in Logistics and Port Management will be taught in Panama City; a pioneering and benchmark programme organised by Fundación Valenciaport in collaboration with the Maritime Authority of Panama and with a degree from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. This agreement represents the return of Fundación Valenciaport to Panama, where it already held an edition of its Master’s Degree in 2007.

This Master, which has also been successfully taught, in this or other formats, in Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, is expected to be developed in 2023 in Panama City, addressing the knowledge, both conceptual and practical, that will allow students to acquire the necessary skills to develop management functions in the field of logistics and port management, as happened in 2007, an edition from which emerged important leaders of the Panamanian port and logistics sector, both public and private.
The teaching staff will be made up of members of the Universitat Politècnica de València and professionals from the port logistics sector linked to Fundación Valenciaport, the Port Authority of Valencia and companies from the port logistics sector in Valencia, all with proven international teaching experience. There will also be the participation of local lecturers in classroom modules, who will share sessions with the international lecturers.

The syllabus is structured in different subjects including: maritime traffic; transport infrastructures and means of transport; port planning and management; business management applied to the port environment; production and logistics; supply chain strategy; as well as logistics and supply chain techniques.

The programme is made up of a total of 600 hours, which are distributed in 326 hours on the online platform, 144 hours of classroom training in Panama City and 30 hours in Valencia (Spain), plus 100 hours dedicated to the development of the TFM (Final Master’s Thesis).

The dates will be communicated shortly and the registration process will be opened through the website of Fundación Valenciaport.
