Valencia, 20 March 2023. – Fundación Valenciaport, which last February got the homologation as a training centre for railway staff, has just launched its first programme to obtain both the Train Driver Licence and the Driving Diploma.
This is a milestone for the training department of this entity as it is the first railway school linked to a port.
The aim of this course is to jointly obtain the train driver’s licence and the diploma accrediting the minimum general knowledge required for category B certificates. Obtaining the Driving Licence and Diploma together with the corresponding Certificate entitles the holder to drive trains on the RFIG (General Interest Railway Network).
The Fundación Valenciaport has announced a maximum of 20 places for this course, which will begin on April 11th and is scheduled to end on December 18th this year.
The programme includes a total of 1,150 teaching hours, with 650 hours of theory and 500 hours of practical work.
The practical training will be organised according to the timetables of the trains in operation, which may be daytime or night-time. Likewise, as the Fundación Valenciaport is located in the Port of Valencia, during the course, visits, workshops and practices will be scheduled in the terminals with railway connection, all of this to contribute to a better and more specialised training of the students. Visits to railway facilities of interest and other related activities will also be included.
All the information about the course, as well as the registration form are available on the Fundación Valenciaport website: CURSO DE LICENCIA Y DIPLOMA DE MAQUINISTA FERROVIARIO – Fundación Valenciaport
