Opentop launches new challenge with Infoport to find startups developing innovative Artificial Intelligence solutions

Startups can register their applications to participate in Opentop’s Business Growth Program until March 31st, 2024
Infoport’s challenge seeks Artificial Intelligence proposals to connect different information systems in transport and port logistics
Participants will enjoy a six-month personalized acceleration program, led by Wayra, Telefónica’s open innovation unit, with permanent and direct contact with the cluster of companies in the ports of Valencia, Sagunto and Gandía to solve current challenges proposed by the sector

Opentop, Valenciaport’s open innovation hub, launches a new challenge with Infoport, for startups with innovative AI solutions applicable to port logistics that wish to access the initiative’s Business Growth Program.

Opentop, an initiative led by Fundación Valenciaport, has proposed in recent months two other challenges with ARSINOE and the Port Authority of Valencia, related to the impact of climate change on ports and the application of cutting-edge technologies for the police management of dangerous goods.

This initiative, led by Fundación Valenciaport with the support of Wayra, Telefónica’s open innovation unit, has incubated and accelerated 8 startups in the last year and a half, as well as held two editions of its hackathon. In total, more than 16 logistics challenges proposed by the industry have been addressed through all these calls.

Startups interested in this new challenge will be able to submit their proposals until March 31 to access a complete customized growth support program that will last 6 months.

The projects that register for this program will be evaluated in different areas by a committee of experts that will make a first pre-selection among the candidates. Those startups that pass this first cut will present their projects in a Pitch Day before a professional jury formed by specialists in entrepreneurship and in the logistics-port sector.

The selected startups will have access, during the 6 months of the program, to a continuous contact with the leading companies in the sector, and will work hand in hand with them to develop solutions to real challenges already identified by the corporations.

The startups will validate their use cases with a wide network of mentors and professionals in a personalized program in which they will receive a comprehensive assessment to focus on the needs identified, as well as the opportunity to find synergies with other startups in the Opentop ecosystem.

Finally, the initiative will facilitate and support access to funding sources and to the main investors in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. It is worth mentioning that, recently, startups participating in previous Opentop programs have accessed grants from the Valencia City Council worth €93,000.
