- The 1st edition of the MLGP in Peru is now open for registration and will start on 4 November.
Valencia, 19 August 2024. – The Fundación Valenciaport has just launched the 1st edition of the ‘Master in Logistics and Port Management’ in Peru, a degree of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), which will be taught in blended mode and has the support of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), the first university established in South America.
This Master, which has already been successfully taught in Argentina, Panama, Mexico and Brazil, is scheduled to start on 4 November 2024 in Lima (Peru), addressing both conceptual and practical knowledge that will enable students to acquire the necessary skills to develop managerial functions in the field of logistics and port management. The curriculum is structured in different subjects including: maritime traffic; transport infrastructures and means of transport; port planning and management; business management applied to the port environment; production and logistics; supply chain strategy; as well as logistics and supply chain techniques.
The programme is made up of a total of 600 hours corresponding to 60 ECTS credits: 500 academic hours, which are distributed in 316 hours on the online platform; plus 144 classroom hours (6 weeks) – which will take place every 2 months as an immersion – promoting networking among students, and which will be taught at the UNMSM Ciudad Universitaria headquarters in Lima (Peru), plus 30 classroom hours taught in Valencia (Spain), and 110 hours dedicated to the development of the TFM (Master’s thesis). During the week of the study trip to Valencia, students will attend extraordinary conferences and will make multiple visits to different logistic-port facilities related to the subjects taught.
The teaching staff will be made up of professors from the Universitat Politècnica de València with proven international teaching experience and professionals from the logistics-port sector linked to the Fundación Valenciaport, the Port Authority of Valencia and companies from the port logistics sector in Valencia. There will also be the participation of local teachers in face-to-face modules, who will share sessions with the international teachers.
The application period for this Master’s Programme is open and will end on 15 October 2024.

Emblematic Projects in Peru
It is worth highlighting the experience accumulated by the Fundación Valenciaport in Peru, having developed several emblematic projects in the field of port development such as the Master Plan for the Callao Port Terminal; the Implementation of VTS Vessel Traffic Services in the Port of Callao (public investment project for port traffic control); Technical Assistance for Short Sea Shipping; or the Formulation of the Development Strategy for the Peruvian National Port System, among others.
These projects reflect the capacity of the Fundación Valenciaport to lead and execute strategic initiatives that strengthen the logistics and port sector, not only in Spain but globally, with a particular focus on the expanding Peruvian market.
In the area of training, the Fundación Valenciaport also has extensive experience in Peru, having successfully given different courses on Strategic Planning and Balanced Scorecard, in collaboration with ENAPU; Strategy in Concession and Operation Processes, in collaboration with APN; Capacity, Performance and Service Level in Maritime Terminals, in collaboration with OSITRAN; or the Senior Management Training programme, in collaboration with MINCETUR, VUCE and APN.
