Valencia, September 20th, 2024. – The kick-off meeting of the TRAMA project – Optimisation of the TRAffic Management and infrastructure capacity in the port of Valencia, an initiative aimed at optimising traffic management in the Port of Valencia and its hinterland, took place yesterday at the facilities of Fundación Valenciaport.
The TRAMA project, coordinated by Fundación Valenciaport and also involving the Port Authority of Valencia; Puertos del Estado and Cosco Shipping Ports (Spain) Terminals as partners and CSP Iberian Valencia Terminal; CSP Iberian Zaragoza Rail Terminal; CSP Logitren; and Conte-Rail as affiliated entities, has a budget of more than 8 million euros, co-financed by the European Union through the Connecting Europe Facility, and an execution period of 34 months.
It is a study project initiative (preparatory, testing and validation activities) that will focus on both maritime and land transport (road and rail). The initiative will enhance digital platforms, using new technologies and innovation, to improve the capacity of transport infrastructures and services, while promoting modal integration.
The key objectives of the project include the improvement of Valenciaport’s PCS, the improvement of communication between the different actors involved in freight transport and the optimisation of terminal operations management systems (TOS).
TRAMA will ensure full compatibility and interoperability of digital systems (TOS, PCS, SIMPLE Platform) through the application of ICT4.0 standards, and will consider the necessary modifications to be made in the freight transport sector to adapt to the important changes derived from the new requirements established in the related European regulations (e.g. EMSWe, eFTI).
Finally, a Cost Benefit Analysis and a market implementation strategy will be developed to ensure the replicability and deployment of the project results, not only in other terminals of the Port of Valencia, but also in other EU ports, thus multiplying its impact.
