Valencia, October 21st, 2024. – This morning the Minister of Ports and Airports of Brazil, Silvio Costa Filho, accompanied by several members of his cabinet, has made an institutional visit to the Port of Valencia in which he has been received by Francesc Sanchez, president of Fundación Valenciaport and deputy director of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV); Antonio Torregrosa, general director of Fundación Valenciaport; Cristina Rodríguez, head of Containers of the APV and Jonas Mendes, consultant in Innovation and Port Strategy and responsible for projects involving Brazil at Fundación Valenciaport.
During his visit, the minister signed a collaboration agreement with Fundación Valenciaport with the main objective of continuing to teach the Master in Logistics and Port Management (MLGP) in Brazil, a program that has been a great success in its first four editions, having already trained more than 120 managers from different Brazilian ports. The agreement also contemplates future collaborations to jointly deliver different training programs. This agreement, which will be in force for the next five years, is a clear sign of the good relationship between both entities and the commitment of the Ministry of Ports and Airports with the continuous training of the human capital of Brazilian ports.
The MLGP includes 7 weeks of classroom training, 6 in Brazil and 1 week in Valencia, plus 18 weeks taught in online format. All of them full of activities, forums and debates that make this program a unique training endorsed by the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
This master’s degree has also been taught in Panama, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia, making a total of 10 international editions. A program that is undoubtedly an international benchmark in port training.
To conclude his visit, the Minister of Ports and Airports met with the 32 students who are taking the fourth edition of the MLGP and who are currently in Valencia enjoying their week of classroom training at Fundación Valenciaport’s facilities.
