Valencia, December 4th, 2024. – Fundación Valenciaport and the Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía (ITE), in collaboration with the Port Authority of Valencia, have launched an innovative course on energy transition in the logistics-port sector.
This course, which will be held at Fundación Valenciaport’s facilities from January 28 to March 11, is designed for managers and middle managers looking to implement innovative energy strategies, covering from the current context of energy transition, key regulations, basic energy and fuel concepts, to the technological alternatives available. With a practical approach, it will delve into how to carry out the energy transition process in the sector, selecting the most appropriate options in each case, showing best practices and international success stories of decarbonization of ports and logistics operations.
Thanks to this program, participants will learn about decarbonization strategies applied to different logistics sectors (maritime transport, technical-nautical services, port terminals, land transport, warehousing and logistics operators; they will learn how to calculate and manage their carbon footprint, from registration to offsetting, with practical examples; study localized energy generation and storage solutions, positioning ports as energy hubs where energy is generated and distributed to and from the entire port community; become familiar with simulation and energy modeling tools and technologies, applied to the planning and evaluation of investments in renewable energies; and discover the 2030 Net Zero Emissions Plan, the strategy to transform the Port of Valencia into a benchmark in sustainability and decarbonization.
This course combines theoretical classes, practical workshops and technical visits to key facilities such as the Port of Valencia and ITE’s pilot plants.
