The objective of the Freight4All Project is to resolve the fragmentation issue of trans-national multimodal freight transport chains by providing a distributed, interoperable ICT solution.Said solution will facilitate distance collaboration between the parties involved and the joint use of the available e-logistic systems, resulting in a strengthening of territorial cohesion and the provision of profitable and sustainable services.
Freight4ALL designed and developed a platform to distribute information and served as a mediator of efficient transactions and interactions between all parties involved from one side to the other of the supply chain and with continuous visibility of operations.
The project general objectives were as follows:
- To improve the competitiveness of all parties working in transport and logistics (in their regions) by increasing collaboration in efficient electronic transactions following the adoption of flexible and open-use interface tools.
- To facilitate transport and environmental sustainability through co-modal solutions, modifying fragments of information flows by using ICTs.
- To improve the economic development of remote locations by improving costs by providing e-logistics services to distant suppliers.
- To provide equal opportunities to all multimodal transport stakeholders based on added-value ICT services for the entire MED market.
