MONALISA 2.0 involved 39 businesses from 10 European countries entrusted with developing actions to significantly improve the security and efficiency of maritime transport within the framework of environmental sustainability.
MONALISA 2.0 is a far-reaching project intended to develop strategic actions in a number of different areas: management of maritime shipping by integrating advanced information systems, improvement to the security of ships and ports increasing the efficiency of procedures in case of accidents and emergencies, comprehensive training of personnel involved in the aforementioned procedures, etc.
Some of the results can be seen below:
- Development of a European-wide shipping management system, a counterpart of SESAR, the air traffic management system.
- Carrying out of pilot projects based on massive evacuation exercises on ships and at port facilities.
- Development of systems and technologies that increase the operational performance of the so-called Motorways of the Sea.
Fundación Valenciaport together with the Port Authority of Valencia took part in this project incorporating the vision of the Spanish port system in close collaboration with the Spanish Ports Authority.
