Fundación Valenciaport, in its capacity as a conduit for the information needs of the Valenciaport cluster, has promoted multiple sectoral studies. The aim of these studies is to improve the competitiveness of the region’s industry through analysis of the transport chain and the implementation of logistics solutions tailored to the needs of the main sectors of the Valencian Community.
The basic premise is that logistics is key to the development of internationalization policies in markets where competition via prices is not the most appropriate approach, and where competitiveness is achieved by seeking out new ways of differentiating and boosting efficiency. This calls for in-depth analysis of sectoral logistics chains in order to propose actions that will improve the competitiveness of Valencian industry.
The overall objective of sectoral studies is to produce a diagnosis of the current situation of the sector in general and of the logistics model in particular. These studies thus identify needs and provide recommendations that could improve the model, in terms of both cost efficiency and service levels.
Studies have been carried out on a number of sectors, including the toy sector, natural stone, tiles, agrifood products (citrus), automotive components, and the automobile sector, among others.
These studies are particularly useful in helping both shippers and business associations to identify their current logistics situation and to implement improvement plans. Such studies also assist transport operators by enabling them to adjust their offer to meet the real needs of their clients
