The aim of the VIGIA project is to develop a federated platform, based on blockchain and artificial vision, for the integral control of access to different industrial areas in the Valencia Region. The integral access control will be applied during the project in the facilities of the port of Valencia, where there are different terminals and warehouses, as well as in other enclosures located outside the port.
VIGIA facilitates compliance with the different requirements of the port authorities, occupational risk prevention legislation, the security forces and the managers of the facilities themselves. It will also make it possible to prevent labour intrusion in transport and avoid illegal acts in industrial areas, especially in logistics-port facilities. The project also aims to improve operations and physical safety in the circulation of land freight transport vehicles.
VIGIA proposes to carry out the recognition of people and vehicles both at the entrances and during their movement under very demanding technical conditions and requirements. On the one hand, the processing time must be kept to a minimum while maximising the resolution of the captured video stream. On the other hand, the conditions and changes in lighting, reflections, use of masks, colour variations, changes in scale, occlusion and movement of these elements to be identified by artificial vision add special complexity to the design and implementation of these algorithms.
Given the innovative nature of this project in this area, VIGIA has the potential to become the logistics project with artificial vision technology of reference in Spain, making it possible to position the Valencian Community and its logistics industry as a spearhead in the application of these emerging technologies.
