Course objectives
Logistics has become one of the key aspects, not only in the competitiveness of companies but also in that of countries. According to the 2018 Logistic Performance Index (LPI), Mexico is in 51st position out of 160 countries, with ample room for improvement and opportunities in this area. According to the report of the Spanish Observatory of Logistics and Transport, “the economic weight of the logistics sector in 2014 represented 3.1% of GDP, maintaining its relative contribution in a stable manner in the period analysed (2008-2014). Related to logistics and considered as one of the pillars of the LPI, are the infrastructures necessary for it to be carried out properly. One of these infrastructures are the ports and the management systems necessary for them to be efficient. The union of knowledge, techniques and practices related to logistics and port management is a necessity for both countries and companies.
